Dietrich von Mousson

Dietrich von Mousson († 1102 / 1105 ) was a Count of Mousson , Altkirch and Ferrette from the house Scarponnois . He was a son of Count Ludwig von Mousson and Sophia von Bar , a daughter of Duke Friedrich II of Lorraine .

In 1093 he inherited the County of Bar and the Bailiwick of Saint-Mihiel from his mother . In 1096 he was entrusted with the county of Verdun by Bishop Richer von Verdun . In the same year Dietrich wanted to take part in the First Crusade , but stayed in his home country because of an illness. For this he founded the monasteries of Biblisheim and Walbourg . In 1102 Dietrich wrote his will in Altkirch Castle and died a little later. He was buried in the cathedral of Autun .

Dietrich was married to Ermentrude of Burgundy, a daughter of Count Wilhelm I of Burgundy . His wife brought him the County of Mömpelgard into marriage, and as a widow she founded the Froidefontaine monastery . Your children were:
