Hermann III. (Lip)

Hermann III. zur Lippe (* approx. 1233; † October 3, 1274 ) was Lord of Lippe from 1265 to 1274 .

Life

Hermann III. zur Lippe was born around 1233 as the second child of Bernhard III. zur Lippe and Countess Sofie van Cuijck-Amsberg.

After the death of the father there was between the brothers Hermann III. and Bernhard IV. a dispute over the inheritance, so that the rule of the Lippe was divided: Hermann III. received Lippstadt and Rheda , his brother Bernhard IV received Horn and the eastern part of the Lippe region.

Hermann III. died childless on October 3, 1274, so that the rule could be reunited. Hermann's nephew Simon I. He chose Brake Castle in Lemgo as his residence.
