The RWO amateur player Hermann Kaldenhof played a game in the Bundesliga . In the 1972/73 season he ran on matchday 30, May 5, 1973, in a 1-0 home win against Hannover 96 for the bottom of the table from the Niederrheinstadion , when he was in the 73rd minute of coach Heinz Murach for attackers Karl-Heinz Artmann was substituted on. It was his only appearance in professional football, RWO was relegated from the Bundesliga at the end of the season.
