Hermann Karl Dumrath

Hermann Karl Dumrath (born December 10, 1854 in Stettin , † March 21, 1922 in Marienwerder ) was a German administrative officer and parliamentarian.

Life

Hermann Karl Dumrath was born as the son of the manor owner and parliamentarian Hermann Dumrath . He studied law at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn and the Eberhard Karls Universität Tübingen . In 1875 he became a member of the Corps Guestphalia Bonn . In 1876 he joined the Corps Suevia Tübingen . After completing his studies and military service, he entered the Prussian civil service.

As a court assessor with the government in Marienwerder , Dumrath was appointed district administrator of the Strasburg district in West Prussia in 1889. In 1899 Dumrath was elected to the Prussian House of Representatives in the constituency of Marienwerder 4 (Strasburg) , where he belonged to the faction of the Free Conservative Party . When he spoke out against the construction of the Mittelland Canal as a so-called canal rebel , he was put up for disposition as district administrator in 1899 and then transferred to the Berlin police headquarters under promotion to the government council. Because of this promotion, he left the House of Representatives on May 19, 1890. Later he was a senior councilor at the Berlin police headquarters and most recently a government director. In retirement he lived in Marienwerder.

The district administrator, manor owner and parliamentarian Ulrich Dumrath was his brother.
