Hermann Knapp (politician)

Hermann Knapp , from 1850 Hermann von Knapp , (born June 8, 1801 in Alpirsbach , † June 19, 1859 in Stuttgart ) was a Württemberg lawyer and politician .

Life

The son of a councilor born Knapp studied after attending the Lyceum in Tubingen, a clerk teaching in Backnang and his time as an assistant in a vineyard law in Tübingen . During his studies in 1820 he became a member of the Germania Tübingen fraternity . After his exams and doctorate as Dr. iur. In 1831 he was appointed chief magistrate in Neuenbürg , in 1836 chief justice advisor in Ellwangen and in 1839 senior teacher and senior consistorial advisor in Stuttgart. From 1839 to 1842 he was a member of the Second Chamber of the Württemberg Landtag . From 1843 to 1859 he was director of the royal study council in Stuttgart. In 1847 he represented Württemberg at the Postal Congress in Dresden . He wrote some legal treatises.

Ennoblement

In 1850, Knapp was awarded the Knight's Cross of the Order of the Württemberg Crown , which was associated with the personal title of nobility ( ennoblement ).
