Hermann Kotthoff

Hermann Kotthoff (* 1943 ) has been an adjunct professor of sociology at the Technical University of Darmstadt since 2000 .

After studying sociology , political science , philosophy and social psychology in Freiburg and Saarbrücken (1965–1971), he worked as a research assistant at various universities. a. at Heinrich Popitz's chair in Freiburg (1973–79). From 1982 to 1996 he was a member of the institution's management, from 1996 to 2001 managing director of the Institute for Social Research and Social Economy e. V. (ISO) Saarbrücken. Kotthoff is also co-editor of the quarterly journal Arbeit, published by Lucius & Lucius .

Kotthoff's studies of German works councils found broad recognition in industrial sociology ; Since then he has been regarded as an expert on employee participation .
