Hermann Lang (doctor)

Hermann Lang (born July 3, 1938 in Rosenberg (Baden) ; † December 31, 2019 in Würzburg ) was a German psychiatrist and psychoanalyst .

Hermann Lang studied philosophy , psychology and medicine in Heidelberg and Paris. He received his doctorate in philosophy in 1972 with a dissertation on language and the unconscious with Hans-Georg Gadamer and then with a dissertation on the role and position of the father in schizophrenics as a doctor of medicine.

In 1979 he submitted his habilitation thesis entitled The Structural Triad - structural-analytical investigations into the deep family structure in schizophrenics . A year later, Hermann Lang was made head of the Department of Psychotherapy and Medical Psychology at the Psychosomatic Clinic of the Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg . In 1986 he received the Dr. Margrit Egnér Foundation . In 1988 he took over the position of Dean of the Medical Faculty in Heidelberg. On New Year's Day 1990, Lang was appointed professor for psychotherapy and medical psychology at the University of Würzburg .
