Hermann Leitherer

Hermann Leitherer (born January 21, 1919 in Dillingen an der Donau , † March 21, 1991 ) was a German sculptor .

Life

Hermann Leitherer, son of the church artist Hans Leitherer , studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Nuremberg . From 1951 he worked as a freelance artist in Bamberg. He worked mainly for the church and public sector and had exhibitions at home and abroad. His son Thomas continues the workshop.

For many years he was chairman of the ETA Hoffmann-Gesellschaft eV From 1969 to 1985 he was director of the Bamberg Kaiser-Heinrich-Gilde des Cartell Rupert Mayer (CRM) .

Hermann Leitherer was involved in numerous social projects in the Holy Land . In 1974 he was appointed Knight of the Order of Knights of the Holy Sepulcher by Cardinal Grand Master Maximilien Cardinal de Fuerstenberg and invested in Düsseldorf on May 4, 1974 by Lorenz Cardinal Jaeger , Grand Prior of the German Lieutenancy .
