Hermann Luckenbach
Hermann Luckenbach (born December 27, 1856 in Meiderich ; † April 2, 1949 in Heidelberg ) was a German classical philologist and high school teacher .
Life
After studying classical philology and archeology in Tübingen , where he was active in the Corps Borussia in 1874 , and Strasbourg , where he received his doctorate under Rudolf Schöll in 1878 , Luckenbach was active in the Baden school service. From 1879 to 1906 he taught at the grammar school in Karlsruhe , 1906 to 1908 he was director of the grammar school in Donaueschingen , from 1908 to 1923 he was director of the grammar school in Heidelberg. In 1880/81 he received a travel grant from the German Archaeological Institute .
He published lively on the art and history of antiquity, especially for a wider audience and high school classes.
