Hermann Mämel (born August 25, 1866 in Ilmenau , † July 18, 1944 in Coburg ) was a German politician ( SPD ).

Life

Hermann Mämpel grew up without parents in Ilmenau, where he first worked in a thermos bottle factory before completing an apprenticeship as a bookbinder in Gotha . He moved to Coburg to practice his profession. In 1896 Hermann Mämpel became an employee of the general local health insurance fund in Coburg. In 1914 he was promoted to head of department, in 1920 to administrative senior secretary and in 1923 to administrative inspector. In 1931 the treasurer was retired.

politics

On July 1, 1893, Hermann Mämpel joined the Social Democratic Party of Germany, for which he was elected to the Coburg state parliament in 1908 and was a member of parliament until 1912. When he was elected to the Coburg state assembly on February 9, 1919, he became a member of the state assembly, which he belonged to until June 30, 1920, when the Free State of Coburg was unified with the Free State of Bavaria . From March 19, 1920 to July 1, in an advisory capacity, he represented the Coburg region with Johann Stegner and Hans Schack in the Bavarian state parliament . Due to the by-elections to the state parliament in Coburg on November 7, 1920, Franz Klingler was his successor. From 1921 to 1924 he was a member of the Coburg City Council.
