Hermann Peyerl

Hermann Peyerl (* 1980 in Vienna ) is an Austrian economist and tax lawyer . He is Professor of Accounting and Tax Law at the Department of Economics and Social Sciences and Dean of Studies at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna .

Life

After completing his school-leaving examination and the subsequent military service, Hermann Peyerl completed studies in economics and law at the Vienna University of Economics and Business and engineering at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences in Vienna. He received his doctorate in 2006 with a dissertation in business administration and in 2009 in financial law. In 2008 he received a postgraduate LL.M. - Degree in European Tax Law at the Johannes Kepler University Linz . In 2014 he completed his habilitation in business administration taking tax law into account.

Peyerl has been working at the Department of Economics and Social Sciences at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna, since 2006. Before that he worked for companies in Austria, Germany and the USA. He taught at several domestic and foreign universities, including as visiting professor at Thammasat University in Bangkok in 2007 and at Hohenheim University in Stuttgart in 2009 . In 2012 a research stay at the University of California in Berkeley followed and in 2014 at Northwestern University in Chicago.

Peyerl is editor and author of numerous scientific publications. In addition, he repeatedly takes a public position on current tax policy issues. He has received a number of prizes and awards for his research work, including the Lower Austrian Science Prize.

Peyerl is a member of several scientific associations and academic bodies. He was a student representative and later a student representative of the university student body . Since 2010 he has been a co-opted member of the tax law expert panel of the Chamber of Tax Advisors and Auditors .
