Hermann Reifenberg (born June 6, 1928 in Oppenheim am Rhein) is a German Catholic theologian and liturgical scholar .

Life

Hermann Reifenberg studied Catholic theology in Mainz and Munich . It was in 1952 with the dissertation The Ordo Missae Moguntinus since the 14th century his doctorate at the University of Mainz, where he joined in 1963 with the working hours of prayer and Breviere in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Mainz since the Romanesque period also habilitated . In 1952 he was ordained a priest in Mainz. From 1961 to 1965 he was pastor at St. Laurentius in Ebersheim and from February 1, 1965 until his retirement in 1985 he was full professor of liturgical science at the University of Bamberg . In 1965, Reifenberg became an honorary citizen of the then independent municipality of Ebersheim and, with its incorporation in 1969, an honorary citizen of Mainz , he lives in Mainz-Mombach .
