Hermann Schmidt-Kaler

Hermann Schmidt-Kaler (born June 21, 1933 in Schweinfurt ) is a German geologist .

He received his diploma in 1959 as a geologist and two years later at the University of Erlangen doctorate . From 1962 he worked at the Federal Institute for Soil Research in Hanover, for which he a. a. researched in Bolivia , and from 1965 at the Bavarian State Geological Office . In the early 1970s he was a councilor there.

He wrote several geological hiking guides and is a specialist in the Jura . He also dealt with the Nördlinger Ries .
