Helmut Tischlinger

Helmut Tischlinger (* 1946 ) is a German paleontologist .

Tischlinger was a full-time teacher in the Eichstätt district . He has been a volunteer at the Eichstätt Jura Museum since 1970 . Tischlinger lives in Stammham .

Helmut Tischlinger published in particular on the palaeontology of the Solnhofen limestone limestone from the Jura (e.g. for the preservation of soft tissue in pterosaurs ), as well as on the geology of the southern Franconian Alb , but is also a co-author of geological hiking guides in other regions of Germany. He is also known for his photographs of Solnhofen fossils (also in the UV wavelength range ), including almost all specimens of Archeopteryx . He developed the technology for this over a period of 15 years.

Besides Solnhofen researched table Linger in the Cambrian classical reference Burgess Shale and in the Eocene of Monte Bolca .
