Hermann Scholl (born June 21, 1935 in Stuttgart ) was chairman of the board of management of Robert Bosch GmbH from 1993 to 2003 .

He was born in Stuttgart in 1935 and, after graduating from high school, studied electrical engineering (subject: communications engineering) at the University of Stuttgart . After receiving his doctorate in 1961 as Dr.-Ing. Scholl joined Robert Bosch GmbH in 1962 . In 1973 he became a member of the management and in 1975 a member of the management. In 1993 he was appointed Chairman of the Management Board - as successor to Marcus Bierich  . In 1995 Scholl also became a personally liable partner of Robert Bosch Industrietreuhand KG, which exercises the voting rights of the Robert Bosch Stiftung .

Under his aegis, Robert Bosch GmbH was able to increase its sales from around 16 billion euros to over 36 billion euros - despite the general recession that prevailed in the early 1990s. At the same time, the number of employees rose from 157,000 to over 230,000. The foreign share of sales also rose under his leadership from 50 to around 70 percent.

At Bosch, Scholl promoted D-Jetronic electronic gasoline injection , which had its world premiere in 1967 . During his time on the management board, Bosch launched the first reliable ABS for cars as well as electronic safety systems . Under his leadership, Bosch became the world market leader in electronic manifold injection and safety systems. In December 2011 he and Manfred Fuchs were honored with the Werner-von-Siemens-Ring .

In 2003, Scholl moved to the supervisory board of Robert Bosch GmbH as chairman . Franz Fehrenbach was appointed as his successor .

On June 30, 2012, Scholl resigned from the Supervisory Board after 50 years at Bosch and became Honorary Chairman of the Bosch Group on July 1, 2012. Franz Fehrenbach was appointed as his successor on the Supervisory Board.

Scholl is married and has a daughter.
