Hermann Karl Ludwig Wilhelm Rudolf Freiherr von Gaisberg-Helfenberg (born October 29, 1860 in Steinheim am Albuch , † June 7, 1924 in Tübingen ) was a German forest official and politician.

Hermann von Gaisberg-Helfenberg was a son of the Württemberg chief forester Karl Ludwig Friedrich Hermann Freiherr von Gaisberg-Helfenberg and his wife Leopoldine, born. Eichrodt. In 1893 he married Irma Luise Karoline Sophie Freiin von Hauch, a daughter of the manor owner Melchior Franz Karl Freiherr von Hauch and his wife Anna, née. Baroness of Gemmingen-Guttenberg. His brother was the court chamberlain Ulrich von Gaisberg-Helfenberg .

Life

After graduating from high school in Heilbronn (1876), Gaisberg-Helfenberg studied forest sciences at the universities of Tübingen and Munich , where he became a member of the Corps Suevia and Franconia . At the same time he did his service as a one-year volunteer with the Royal Württemberg 4th Infantry Regiment in Ludwigsburg in 1878/79 . In 1883 he passed the mathematical and scientific preliminary examination in Tübingen, and in 1884 his first forest service examination. He spent his time as a forest trainee in Neuenbürg. After the second forest service exam, he became district office assistant administrator in summer 1885 and district office assistant in Calmbach in early 1886 . In 1892 he was transferred to Bebenhausen as a forestry assistant , in 1896 chief forester in Schwann , in 1902 in Neuenbürg, and from 1912 with the title of forester. As a captain in the Landwehr, Gaisberg-Helfenberg was drafted into military service in the First World War, which he spent on the western front until the end of the war. Then he returned to his position in Neuenbürg. In 1924 he retired.

Hermann von Gaisberg-Helfenberg had been the Royal Wuerttemberg Chamberlain since 1889 and Chamberlain since 1896. In 1898 he was made a knight of honor of the Order of St. John and chief hunter of King Wilhelm II of Württemberg .
