Hermenegild Jireček

Hermenegild Jireček (born April 13, 1827 in Hohenmauth , Bohemia ; † December 29, 1909 ) was an Austrian lawyer.

Life

Hermenegild Jireček was the brother of Josef Jireček , and studied law at the University of Prague . He was employed in the Austrian Ministry of Education in 1854 , where he became a departmental councilor in 1871.

Jireček wrote a number of stories from 1854 onwards, some of which appeared in magazines and some collected under the title Novelly (Vienna 1853), was involved in the editing of various papers and provided a number of works from Slavic legal history.

In 1882 he was accepted as a corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Sciences in Saint Petersburg .
