Mr. Nilsson was a band from Berlin .

history

The band was formed in 1997. At this time Jan Böttcher ( vocals , partly guitar ) and Sebastian Windisch (guitar, piano ) recorded poems and songs with a multi-track tape recorder. With Peter Herzau ( Fender Rhodes , piano and double bass ) they recorded their first album Liebesleid und Fischigkeit as an acoustic trio in 1998 . The band played calm, transparent jazz pop, which did not let their literary and entertaining lyrics fade into the background.

With the release of the second album Herr Nilsson is moved out in 1999, the band was completed by drummer Felix Bialluch. It was followed by the Berlin Kalkscheune recorded live album My first own water cannon in 2000 and 2003 (with Alf Schulze on drums) the most successful album: Be Easy . Spiegel Online wrote about it: "A small but very fine event in German-language pop music."

From 2004 the Urduo was again completely occupied by Oliver Unger ( electric bass ) and Martin Kautz ( drums ). In 2007 the band finally broke up. In 2008 Jan Böttcher released the solo album from the other end of the hallway .

All CDs were released on the KOOK label, which Böttcher co-founded.
