The manor house at Grodener Chaussee 21 in Cuxhaven is under the protection of historical monuments in Lower Saxony and is included in the list of architectural monuments in Cuxhaven .
history
The two-storey, rectangular, plastered neoclassical building from the 19th century in the era of historicism with the basement, a low mezzanine and the hipped roof is structured in the main facade by four pilasters with simple capitals . The former mansion of the Meyn estate was called the Golden House . An annex was given a disruptive upper floor as a winter garden.
The property with the manor house was acquired in the 1950s by the Catholic St. Willehad congregation , which was profaned in 2011 . For a time (until 1986) the house was home to the St. Willehad Catholic kindergarten , the chaplaincy (until 2011) and a community of nuns (until 2011).
Today (2020) the house has been the seat of the VBS for some time with the specialist office for addiction, addiction prevention and psychosocial counseling .
