Mallin mansion
The Mallin mansion is a building in Mallin in the Mecklenburg Lake District in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, built in a historicist style mix of neo-baroque and neo-renaissance .
history
Karl Ludwig Baron von Hauff had the manor house built in 1870/71. The property belonging to it belonged almost exclusively to the von Maltzan family from the 15th century until 1857 , then to the Schröder family and from 1869 to the Baron von Hauff. After the Second World War , the manor house served as a residential building, kindergarten, artist's studio and restaurant. The ballroom was used for celebrations. After the fall of the Wall , it had been empty since 1991 and was falling into disrepair. The first renovation measures have been undertaken since 2007, but these do not yet represent a definitive salvation of the building.
The representative mansion is a two-storey plastered building with eleven building axes and a basement . There is a rectangular pond in front of the manor house and a landscaped park adjoins the building.
