The Herrensee is a small lake on the northwestern edge of the old town of Waren (Müritz) in the Mecklenburg Lake District , Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania .
The originally approximately round lake was slightly enlarged on its south bank when the Müritzeum information and nature experience center was built . It has an approximate area of 1.5 hectares with a diameter of 130 meters. From the east, the water of the Tiefwarensee , 230 meters away, flows over the Beke ; in the southwest, the Beke drains to the Inner Müritz 70 meters away . In the lake there are some small bushy islands that water birds use for nesting.
The Herrensee is on the edge of a small park and can be circled on a nature trail. He is the namesake for the Herrenseebrücke , which cuts through the park , runs over the Bundesstrasse 192 and the Lloydbahn and connects the old town with the Waren-Nord district.
