Reign Argen

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The rule Argen was a rule based in Argen, today's Langenargen on Lake Constance.

The rule Argen consisted of the main town Argen , the office Nonnenbach , part of today's Kressbronn and the office of Oberdorf, which was incorporated in 1937 . Together with the Lordship of Tettnang and the Lordship of Schomburg , it was part of the County of Tettnang , which was subordinate to the Counts of Montfort from 1290 to 1779/1780 , before the entire county was transferred to Upper Austria in the course of the Montfort bankruptcy proceedings . Bavaria followed in 1805 and Württemberg in 1810.

The rule Argen is not to be confused with the place of the same name and today's hamlet of the city of Isny im Allgäu in the district of Ravensburg in Baden-Württemberg , which also went from Upper Austria via Bavaria to Württemberg.
