Reign Asch

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The rule Asch in (German Asch ), today a city in Okres Cheb in the Czech Republic , originally belonged to the realm of Eger .

The first verifiable feudal lords of the area around Asch were the bailiffs of Weida . In 1281 the Roman-German King Rudolf I gave the area to the Weida bailiffs as an imperial fief, which was sold to the Bohemian King John of Luxembourg in 1331 . More fiefdoms followed. In 1394 Konrad von Neuberg died without male descendants. Through the marriage of his daughter Hedwig von Neuberg with Konrad von Zedtwitz , the rule of Asch with fourteen villages came into the possession of the Lords of Zedtwitz in 1400. In 1557, Ferdinand I made the rule of Asch a direct imperial fief of the Kingdom of Bohemia .

On December 16, 1774, the rule of Asch was mediated by Archduchess Maria Theresa in her capacity as Queen of Bohemia after long resistance from the Lords of Zedtwitz . As a result, the Ascher Ländchen lost its independence and was incorporated into the countries of the Bohemian Crown in 1806 .

On the Schlossberg von Asch (in the middle of a park) there are still small remnants of the lost Asch Castle.
