Hersilie Ewald
Hersilie Ewald (born April 17, 1986 ) is a German opera and theater director .
Life
Growing up in Weimar , Hersilie Ewald studied German and philosophy in Jena. During her studies she set scene evenings in Weimar and u. a. a short version of Humperdinck's Hansel and Gretel on small stages.
From 2009 to 2011 they worked as directors and freelance assistants a. a. to the Zurich Opera House , the Vienna State Opera and the Berlin State Opera . In 2011 she worked as a scenic assistant for Orlando furioso at the Gut Immling opera festival. In the 2011/12 season she was assistant director with evening performance director at the Staatstheater Wiesbaden .
From 2012 to 2014 she was assistant director at the Lucerne Theater. There they were in 2014 her directorial debut with The Boatswain's Mate by Ethel Smyth . This was followed by the direction From room to room by Maren Kessler at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts and Die Schulmeisterkantate by Telemann , again at the Lucerne Theater .
In April 2015 she made her house debut at the Festspielhaus Baden-Baden as part of the Easter Festival and staged the Little Rosenkavalier for children. A resumption of this followed at the end of April 2015 in the great hall of the Philharmonie Berlin .
In autumn 2015 she staged the music theater performance From room to room II in the Mensch Meier Club, Berlin. This was followed by the direction of the ceremony at the Frankfurt Opera today as part of the Akademie Musiktheater and the world premiere of Minibar , opera by Sven Daigger / Manuel Durão at the Hamburg State Opera / Opera Stabile in February 2016 . Hersilie Ewald also staged the scenic recital Efeuranke in the Sophienhaus Weimar in 2016 and Intime Fremde , a play by Jérôme Tonerre, her acting debut, at the Mephisto & Co theater in Konstanz.
In 2018 she staged Mondscheintarif by Ildikó von Kürthy , again at the Theater Mephisto & Co. in Konstanz.
Hersilie Ewald is an alumna of the “Akademie Musiktheater heute”. She works as a freelancer.
