Herwart Kemper

Herwart Carl Kemper (born October 8, 1936 ) was a German educational scientist and professor for school education in Münster and Erfurt until 2001.

Kemper received his doctorate in 1971 in Münster with a dissertation on Dr. phil. on the educational theory of Plutarch and habilitated there in 1981 in educational science. He taught in Münster as a school pedagogue and in 1992 moved to the Erfurt University of Education as head of the Institute for School Pedagogy, which was merged into the University of Erfurt in 2001. The work on reform pedagogy , which was created together with Dietrich Benner , examined the effects of the “experimental schools ” on state school reform and educational science. The attached source volumes provide a complex picture of the reform development. Schnepfenthal , where Salzmann had set up a reform school , was of particular interest .
