Heart Israel Ruer

Herz Israel Ruer (* 1758 ; † July 25, 1826 in Meschede ) was a German doctor who practiced in Meschede.

Live and act

Herz Israel Ruer came from an old Jewish family. He studied four years at the Collegium medico-chirurgicum in Berlin and from August 29, 1778 at the University of Göttingen pharmacy. On September 30, 1779 he received his doctorate in medicine there. Then Ruer practiced in Meschede. On November 4, 1788, he acquired the old shop in Lower Hagen in Meschede (insurance value: 700 Reichstaler).

On September 5, 1791 he was appointed court medicus by Maximilian Franz of Austria , Archbishop and Elector of Cologne . Ruer published a number of articles in the medical weekly papers published by Johann Jakob Reichard .
