Hessian family day

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Hessian Family Day is organized every two years by the Hessian Ministry of Social Affairs and Integration and the Karl Kübel Foundation for Children and Family in cooperation with the host city. The aim of the non-commercial one-day festival and action day is to bring the concerns and interests of the family increasingly into the public eye, to promote and recognize family and child-friendliness at all levels. Overall, the one-day event is intended to help strengthen the family in its current diverse form.

history

As a result of the family policy offensive launched by the State of Hesse in 2000, the Family Day, a major nationwide event for families, was launched. The venue is regularly selected every two years by the Hessian Ministry for Social Affairs and Integration and the Karl Kübel Foundation as part of a Hesse-wide tender based on regional and structural criteria. The first Hessian Family Day took place in August 2002 in Bensheim an der Bergstrasse. Other venues were Fulda (2003), Hofgeismar (2005), Eschborn (2007), Korbach (2009), Eltville am Rhein (2011) and Weilburg an der Lahn (2013). In 2015 the 8th Hessian Family Day will take place on July 11th in Alsfeld . The event has up to 40,000 visitors. The organization of the Hessian Family Day is taken on by the Karl Kübel Foundation as an office in close coordination with the Hessian Ministry for Social Affairs and Integration and the respective host city.

concept

The Hessian Family Day stands out from pure entertainment offers thanks to its fundamentally content-based orientation. The target groups are families and those of all social classes and generations interested in family issues, who on the day have the opportunity to find out about offers for families from organizations and initiatives from all over Hesse and new approaches in family policy. You can talk directly to the family politicians from the municipalities and the state of Hesse who regularly take part, as well as representatives from churches and associations, make new contacts and networks and take part in the extensive entertainment and action program. Conversely, this event offers regional and national family organizations and associations as well as social institutions and associations a platform to present their family-related offers on a market of possibilities or the stage program. There is no entrance fee for the Hessian Family Day; all offers and performances are free for visitors. Catering is offered at family-friendly prices.
