action

The film begins in 1948. The frail old Leatherbee lives with her daughter Annabelle in a remote, multi-storey house. One day she, who had previously been the victim of a brutal burglar herself, murders her neighbors in a frenzy of blood in front of her apparently indifferent daughter. A short time later the old lady suffers a heart attack, dies and is later buried by her daughter in the garden of the house. Immediately afterwards, Ann also hangs herself on her mother's grave. The house has been cursed ever since.

40 years later, the unsuspecting Mark buys the old, meanwhile run-down country house in which the tragedy once took place and invites six of his friends to help him renovate the property he had just bought at an extremely low price. While visiting the property, they discover the mysterious gravestone of a certain Abigail Leatherbee in the garden, which the rebellious and moody Bob willfully destroys. A few moments later, in front of the house, they find a noose and the corresponding gallows. Somewhat irritated, you decide to inspect the supposedly deserted house.

Full of zest for action, they first send Joey off to buy beer when, while working in the house, the other six make the acquaintance of an aging, strangely behaving old woman to whom they still pay little attention. With the appearance of the old lady, who woke up unnoticed with the destruction of the resting place, all windows and doors close by themselves, i.e. all escape options. A little later, the old woman murders Mark with unimaginable severity, who rises as a zombie and henceforth seeks the death of his friend Jamie and the others.

Joey, returning from shopping, becomes the old woman's second victim, also wakes up as a walking corpse and takes part in the hunt for his shocked friends. Little by little, the meanwhile warned and poorly armed group, which continues to search in vain for an escape route, is decimated until only Ron remains. He finds support in a previously broken-in teenager who, with his now mutated friend Rick, gained access to the building out of sheer boredom, but is now also trapped.

The duo holed up in front of the bloodthirsty creatures and can subsequently render some creatures harmless before they face the old woman in a final fight. Ron and his teenage helper are both seriously wounded, but the two manage to eliminate the murdering woman and mutilate her before they both lose consciousness. At the end of the film, the injured Ron wakes up at dawn, opens the now unlocked entrance door, but is struck down from behind by his youthful, now transformed campaigner.

Reviews

“It was filmed at a relatively slow pace, there are a lot of, very long camera angles, here and there some story-technical lengths, but for the most part the film is actually fun because some things are just so wonderfully stupid. The film is absolutely recommendable for every fan of B-Movies . "
