reception

Stephen Thomas Erlewine from Allmusic rated the album 4.5 out of 5 stars. The band deserved success because they had built a large audience on their tours through the United States over the years. Hi Infidelity is not a mere summary of the musical strength of the band, but also an appropriation of what makes stadium rock. Erlewine particularly highlights the songs Keep On Loving You and Take It on the Run . What makes the album special is that the other songs are also good and are in no way inferior to the ones mentioned.
