Hibbert Henry "Hib" Milks (born April 1, 1899 in Eardley , Québec ; † January 21, 1949 in Shawville , Québec) was a Canadian ice hockey player who played 328 games for the Pittsburgh Pirates during his playing career between 1919 and 1933 , Philadelphia Quakers , New York Rangers and Ottawa Senators played in the National Hockey League on the left winger position .

Career

Milks played after he had spent parts of his junior years at clubs from the Canadian capital Ottawa , from 1919 first for the Ottawa Gunners in the local city league. In 1922, the striker moved to the United States and joined the Pittsburgh Yellow Jackets for a year . After returning to Ottawa for a while, he went on the ice again for the Yellow Jackets in the amateur area between 1924 and 1925.

On September 26, 1925, Milks was finally submitted to a professional contract by the Pittsburgh Pirates from the National Hockey League , for which he proved in the following five seasons until 1930 as a reliable scorer and accurate goalscorer. Before the 1930/31 season , the Pirates franchise was relocated and played as the Philadelphia Quakers from then on . In the team's disastrous season, Milks was one of the few bright spots and team captain of the team with 17 goals . When the franchise dissolved after the season, the New York Rangers secured the services of the attacker in the dispersal draft that was held . With only four assists in 48 games, the Canadian was unable to continue his previous performance at any time, whereupon the Rangers did not offer him a new contract. As a free agent , he moved to the Ottawa Senators in his hometown for the 1932/33 season . After 16 games for the Senators, Milks injured himself so badly in a game in late December 1932 that he had to end his career immediately. In total, he played 328 NHL games between 1925 and 1932, in which he scored 128 points scorer.

After the Second World War , Milsk settled in Shawville in the province of Québec . He died on January 21, 1949 at the age of 49.
