Hibernia Express is a submarine cable that connects Europe and Canada . It was put into operation in September 2015 as the first transatlantic submarine cable in 12 years. A start was originally planned for 2013. With AEConnect , another transatlantic cable was put into operation in January 2016.

The cable runs from England and Ireland through the Atlantic Ocean to Canada and thus connects Europe with North America .
