Hidetaka Yamada

Hidetaka Yamada ( Japanese 山田 英 孝 , Yamada Hidetaka ; born June 22, 1976 in Kobe ) is a Japanese badminton player .

Career

Hidetaka Yamada was born in Kobe, but attended high school in Ageo . During this school time he was 2nd in the youth championships as well as in the high school championships.

While attending the prestigious Waseda University , he reached 3rd place at the 1995 University Championships and the Japanese Badminton Championships. The following year he won the university championships and came in second behind Takahiro Suka in the "All-Japanese General Badminton Championships". When he again participated in the 1997 university championships, he was runner-up.

When he participated again in 1999 in the "All-Japanese General Badminton Championships", now playing for the Nihon Unisys company team , he again achieved 3rd place. In the same year he won the Romanian International. In 2000 he took part in the men's singles at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney , where he was 17th in the final.

In 2001 and the following year he won the All-Japanese Badminton Championships for Adults.

In 2004 in Athens he again took part in the men's singles at the Summer Olympics, where he was 17th again, like four years earlier. In the same year he also won the Finnish International and the Croatian International .
