Hieris curtisii is a plant type from the family of the Bignoniaceae (Bignoniaceae). It is the only species in the Hieris genus . The distribution area of the species is on the Malay Peninsula .
description
Hieris curtisii is a liana with hairless branches. The leaves are opposite and are usually composed of two, rarely one or three pairs of pinnate leaflets.
The inflorescences are terminal or axillary, dense racemes . The chalice is cup-shaped and cut off. The crown is colored yellow, its corolla lobes are whitish to pale purple in color. It is tubular to bell-shaped, in the lower third the corolla tube is bent knee-shaped. The four stamens do not protrude beyond the crown. The anthers are hairless and consist of two diverging counters. A sterile staminodium is formed next to the stamens . The ovary is egg-shaped, rotationally almost round and each contains ovary chamber two rows of three or four ovules . The ovary stands on a ring-shaped flower base .
The fruits of the species are unknown.
