Hieronymus Dittrich

Hieronymus Dittrich OBE (born December 2, 1925 in Herne , † August 1, 2013 in Paderborn ) was a German Catholic theologian . From 1973 to 2000 he was cathedral capitular at Paderborn Cathedral .

Life

After studying theology in Paderborn, Dittrich was ordained a priest there on August 6, 1952 by Archbishop Lorenz Jaeger . After a year as a vicar in Bad Pyrmont , he was appointed chaplain and secret secretary to Archbishop Jaegers in 1954. He then went in the years 1961/62 to further studies at the University of Wuerzburg and was here for the doctor of theology doctorate . After years as a religion teacher in Paderborn, he was appointed prosynodal judge at the Archbishop's Office in 1967 , and from 1968 he was also a research assistant at the theological faculty in Bochum. In 1973 Archbishop Jaeger appointed him pastor of the cathedral parish of St. Johannes Baptist in Paderborn and cathedral chapter , from 1981 to 1995 at the same time dean of the Paderborn dean's office; even after the reorganization of the parishes in Paderborn in 1998, he was still responsible for church services in Paderborn cathedral. In the cathedral chapter, he was given the task of a 1986 Dompönitentiar he perceived until his dispensation of 2005. He was for his work in promoting Anglo-German relations in 1996 by Queen Elizabeth II. The ceremony for Honorary Officer of the British Empire awarded.
