Hieronymus Georgi

Hieronymus Georgi (born May 13, 1659 in Königsberg (Prussia) , † July 12, 1717 ibid) was a German printer and poet.

Life

Georgi had enrolled at the University of Königsberg on April 13, 1677 . After extensive philosophical studies with Friedrich Deutsch and Melchior Zeidler , on April 26, 1685 he acquired the academic degree of a master's degree in philosophy. Then he became a private lecturer in Königsberg. In 1688 he was assigned the sub-inspectorate of the alumni in 1688 and in 1694 he was appointed full professor of poetry. In addition, he had acquired a printing privilege on July 26, 1701 , but placed this activity on the back of his teaching duties. In his capacity as professor of the philosophical faculty of the Königsberg University he had participated in the summer semester 1716 as rector of the alma mater in its organizational tasks.
