Hila Fahima Ruschin (born 1987 in Karmi'el ) is an Israeli opera singer with a soprano voice . She has been a member of the Vienna State Opera ensemble since autumn 2013 .

Life

Fahima studied and graduated from the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance , her singing teacher was Agnes Massini . During her studies she already appeared in several opera and operetta productions. Fahima sang Adele in der Fledermaus by Johann Strauss, Susanna in Mozart's Le nozze di Figaro , Belinda in Purcell's Dido and Aeneas , and Frasquita in Bizet's Carmen .

In 2010 she made her debut at the Israeli Opera in the title role of the world premiere of the opera Alice in Wonderland by David Sebba , won a singing competition and was signed to the Ensemble Deutsche Oper Berlin . In Berlin she took on the Queen of the Night in Mozart's Magic Flute , Nannetta in Verdi's Falstaff , Najade in Hofmannsthal / Strauss ' Ariadne auf Naxos , Ninetta in Prokofiev's Love for the Three Oranges , Semele in Strauss' Die Liebe der Danae and the Ruggiero sang in Rossini's Tancredi .

Fahima has been a member of the Vienna State Opera ensemble since the 2013/2014 season . She made her debut in the Haus am Ring as Frasquita and also sang Papagena in the Magic Flute and the Oscar in Verdi's Un ballo in maschera , Poussette, Florinda and the voice from heaven in Verdi's Don Carlos . In December 2014 she was part of the premiere cast of Verdi's Rigoletto - as Page - and in June she took over Gilda in the same production.

Fahima also made guest appearances at the Graz Opera (as Queen of the Night) and again at the Israeli Opera (2012 as Amore in Gluck's Orfeo ed Euridice and 2014 as Oscar). In the summer of 2016, the singer could be seen and heard in an open-air performance of Rigoletto at Sultan's Pool in Jerusalem.

The singer also gives concerts, among others with her sister, Yifat Fahima-Weisskopf, a mezzo-soprano.

On December 24, 2018, Fahima Ruschin appeared live on the TV channel ORF 2 in the charity program “Licht ins Dunkel” with Puccini's “Quando m'en vo '”.

Hila Fahima Ruschin is married to the Austrian internet entrepreneur Benjamin Ruschin.
