history

The device was presented to a larger audience for the first time in autumn 2006 at Ham Radio in Friedrichshafen . However, the appearance turned out to be premature. The transceiver was technically not yet fully developed and had to be withdrawn. In 2008, the manufacturer declared that the device "will not go into series production."

Two years later, however, the technical difficulties were overcome and the first series devices were available. In 2014, the American Radio Relay League (ARRL) amateur radio magazine QST gave the device a very positive rating.

In addition to the matching separate power supply unit HN-8000, there is a power amplifier HPA-8000B as a supplement to the transceiver . With an output power of 1 kW, it covers the frequency range from 1.8 MHz to 70 MHz. A table microphone and a precision morse key are also available.

As a small but exclusive extra, the transceiver is available in different housing colors. Except anthracite gray ( RAL 7016), there are Bordeaux violet (RAL 4004), Brilliant Blue (RAL 5007), bronze green (RAL 6031) and Tele gray (RAL 7045). This applies to the Trx , the PSU and the PA .
