Hildegard Huza
Hildegard Huza (* 1951 in Hamburg ) is a German sculptor .
life and work
In the 1970s, Hildegard Huza attended courses on oil painting , etching and printing . At the beginning of the eighties she was a student of the sculptor Karin Hertz. Hildegard Huza also completed an apprenticeship as a stonemason . In 1984 she exhibited her sculptures for the first time. Her work has been represented at more than 40 solo and group exhibitions to date. Huza has been a member of GEDOK since 1987 .
Memorial to the victims of the firestorm
In 1985 Hildegard Huza created the memorial for the victims of the firestorm in 1943 in Hamburg. This shows a person crouching in a ruined corner of a wall made of clinker bricks. The sculpture commemorates 370 people in bomb attack on the night of July 30, 1943 in the public shelter the completely destroyed Karstadt building benefited in Hamburg street choked. It is a reminder for peace.
