Hildegard Spraul

Hildegard Spraul (born June 22, 1941 in Remscheid , née Schneider) is a German Slavist .

Life

Spraul studied Slavic, German and Philosophy at the Universities of Bonn and Heidelberg . In 1965 she received her doctorate from the University of Heidelberg with a dissertation on the imagery of the early Balmont under Dmitrij Tschižewskij . From 1966 to 1967 she was a DFG fellow at the Lomonossow University in Moscow . After working as a lecturer for Russian at the University of Heidelberg, in 1972 she took over the management of the Russian department for translation and interpreting at the Saarland University , which she held until 1995. In 1983 she completed her habilitation at the University of Göttingen with the monograph "On the semantics of Russian sentences with free adverbials". In 1990 she was appointed adjunct professor at Saarland University . From 1996 to 2006 she was the head of cooperation projects between the Saarland University and the Rostov-on-Don State University and the Tyumen State University in Western Siberia. In 2000 Hildegard Spraul was awarded an honorary doctorate from the Rostov State University.

Spraul's main research interests are syntax , semantics , language change , cultural history , foreign language didactics , translation didactics and technical language .
