Hilderic (Spoleto)
Hilderic (also Hilderich ; † 740 ) was 739 to 740 dux of the Lombard Duchy of Spoleto .
Life
King Liutprand moved to Spoleto with an army in 739, whose rebellious dux Transamund II fled to Rome. Liutprand set Hilderic as dux in June 739 . Details about Hilderic's origin and rule have not been passed down.
In December 740, Transamund returned to Spoleto, supported by troops from the ducats of Rome and Benevento, and killed Hilderic, who was employed by Liutprand.
