The Hilton Berlin is a luxury hotel of the Hilton Worldwide Group in Berlin . It is Berlin's largest five-star - hotel .

The hotel has 601 rooms and suites , two restaurants and a lobby lounge . The wellness area is 800 m². There are 15 function rooms and a 488 square meter ballroom .

The hotel has 250 employees and is in the Mohrenstrasse right on the Gendarmenmarkt in Berlin district of Mitte .

history

In 1958 the first Hilton was opened in Berlin, which was sold in 1978 and renamed InterContinental Berlin .

In 1989 the GDR hotel chain Interhotel began with today's construction; In November 1990 it was opened as a Domhotel . In 1991, Hilton bought the building after the operator had withdrawn from Berlin for 13 years. In 2010 the hotel was renovated for 20 million euros.

In May 2018 Aroundtown SA bought the Hilton Hotel in Berlin for just under € 300 million.
