The Himmelberg is a 680 meter high elevation in the Bavarian Forest in the area of ​​the municipality of Konzell in the district of Straubing-Bogen , more than three kilometers north of the center of Konzell.

The closest places are Hofen in the east at a distance of about four hundred meters from the summit and Kölburg in the south about seven hundred meters away. The Himmelberg lies in a contiguous forest area of ​​around 1.4 square kilometers.

Wind turbine

The mountain became known through the many years of disputes over the construction of a wind turbine . In April 2013, the Straubing-Bogen district office approved the construction of an Enercon E-82 E2 wind turbine . The planned system with an output of two megawatts has a hub height of 138.38 meters and a rotor diameter of 82 meters.
