The Himmler decree of June 20, 1938 ( circular of the Reichsführer SS and chief of the German police in the Reich Ministry of the Interior of June 20, 1938 ) was a decree of Heinrich Himmler banning eight remaining Catholic corporation associations and their member associations. The justification for the ban was that “the continued existence of student and senior citizens' associations outside the NS student union and the NS senior gentlemen's association as the party structures responsible for this is politically unsustainable”. The recently created NS-Altherrenbund, which many veterans' associations , especially those of the Catholic associations, had refused to join , should be strengthened by Himmler's decree.

The decree was issued on the basis of the ordinance of the Reich President for the protection of the people and the state of February 28, 1933, with which the civil rights of the Weimar constitution had been suspended.

Associations affected by the ban

The following associations were specifically banned:

The first five corporation associations (CV, KV, TCV, UV and RKDB) were re-established after the end of National Socialism .
