history

The Hindemith Music Center was initially located in a chalet owned by the de Lacroix family. She promoted chamber music in her house. The summer courses were held in the Church of St-Légier-La Chiésaz. Hindemith's executor Marius Décombaz turned to Bootwright's friend Hugues Cuénod and the chalet was acquired in 1974 for the planned Hindemith Foundation. The Hindemith Institute was also founded in Frankfurt am Main . Anne-Charlotte Van Cleef became the director of the new music center in Blonay. The Melos Quartet , LaSalle String Quartet , Bruno Giuranna, Siegfried Palm and Saschko Gawriloff also performed for the so-called Journées Paul Hindemith .

Since 1997 the complex has consisted of three buildings, the Chalet de Lacroix, Pavilion and Maison Décombaz.
