Hingoli is a city in the Indian state of Maharashtra .

The city is the administrative seat of the Hingoli district of the same name . Hingoli has Municipal Council status . The city is divided into 28 wards . On the cut-off date of the 2011 census it had 85,103 inhabitants, of which 43,356 were men and 41,747 were women. Hindus make up the majority of the city's population with a share of over 53%. The literacy rate in 2011 was 82.34%, well above the national average.

The city once belonged to the Bahmani Sultanate and later fell to Hyderabad .

Hingoli train station is on the Purna to Akola line .
