The Hiroe Point (of Japanese 広江岬 Hiroe-misaki , German , Breitbuchtkap ' ) is a rocky headland on the Prince Harald Coast of the East Antarctic Queen Maud Lands . It marks the southern boundary of Breidvåg Bay .
The Norwegian cartographer Hans E. Hansen mapped the headland using aerial photographs taken during the Lars Christensen expedition in 1936/37 . The name was given in 1973 by the headquarters of Japanese Antarctic Research after exploring the area by Japanese researchers. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names transferred this designation in 1975 in a partial translation into English.
