Former shepherd's house |
The shepherd's house is located at the beginning of Friedhofstrasse in Tannheim in the Biberach district in Upper Swabia . It has an entry in the directory of immovable architectural and art monuments and the objects to be examined by the State Monuments Office of Baden-Württemberg .
description
The shepherd's house, built in 1566/67 following dendrological studies, was inhabited by the community shepherd and his family. The two-story building is plastered outside on the ground floor . The upper floor is made of half-timbering , which is partially visible and partially boarded up . Due to the historical exploration of the building, most of the living area in its original state was a one-room building with an open fireplace, roofed over to the roof beam. The gable roof had a full hip on both sides . A gate-shaped opening to the threshing floor can be detected on the eaves facing east . Here, too, there was originally no entablature above the ground floor. The shepherd's house was privately owned in 2013 and has been inhabited continuously since its construction.
