Historical-biographical sheets
Historisch-biographische Blätter was the title of a compilation that appeared in various volumes and deliveries from the 19th and 20th centuries.
The work appeared under various subtitles such as industry, trade and commerce , in which, for example, biographies of various entrepreneurs were presented by Franz Stollwerck , for example , or companies such as the Georg Egestorff Salzwerke corporation with vivid illustrations such as bird gazes by various named artists over company premises.
Other subtitles such as The State of Hamburg dealt with locally based shipping companies and shipping lines in the (present-day) federal state .
The editor and publisher was Julius Eckstein , who operated Eckstein's Biographischer Verlag for this purpose, based in Berlin at Lützowplatz 6. At a different address in Berlin, the artist named "Julius Eckstein's studio for graphic arts" was also known for the reproduced illustrations .
As the responsible editor for Volume 7, Delivery 9 to the State of Hamburg, Alexander Engel was named on the inside cover .
