Historical Association of the County of Ruppin
The Historical Association of the Grafschaft Ruppin eV is a history association in Neuruppin in the Brandenburg district of Ostprignitz-Ruppin . The name refers to the district of Ruppin, also known as the county . The association was founded in 1881 and re-established in 1990 under the same name.
Goals and Activities
The association supports the municipal museum and other charitable institutions. To this end, he acquires artistic, cultural, historical and natural history objects and makes them available on permanent loan. The association members take on tours and give lectures, they take part in exhibitions and events, develop and sell publications and promote cultural and historical projects.
Publications
From January 1992 to February 2007 the bulletin of the Historical Association of the County of Ruppin eV was published. Issues 1 to 17 with a length of 12 (issue 1) to 58 (issue 17) pages were published in irregular succession. The topics of the articles in the booklet are, in addition to association news, archeology , the history of the city of Neuruppin, industrial development, churches, hospitals, the military and schools, the Jews in Neuruppin and about famous personalities as well as experience and travel reports.
In June 2008 the special issue "The Towers of the Neuruppin Monastery Church" was published.
