Hitoshi Sakurai ( Japanese 桜 井 仁 , Sakurai Hitoshi ; born November 17, 1967 in Yoichi , Hokkaidō ) is a former Japanese ski jumper .

On December 15, 1990 Sakurai made his debut in the ski jumping World Cup in Sapporo and finished jumping on the normal hill in 52nd place. On December 19, 1992 he achieved his first World Cup points win on the same hill with 15th place. With this one point he won at the end of the 1992/93 season, 59th place in the overall World Cup ranking. In the other World Cup competitions he remained pointless in the season.

From December 1993 Sakurai started in the Ski Jumping Continental Cup and was nominated annually until 1999 for the World Cup jumping in Sapporo. Sakurai was part of the squad for the 1994 Winter Olympics in Lillehammer , but did not take part in any competition there.

He could no longer achieve great successes in the years 1994 to 1999 and then ended his active ski jumping career after the 1998/99 season.
